How we manage waste in Fife

We manage your waste by providing you with

• A household waste collection service,
• Recycling Points and
• Recycling Centres

A new service for recycling in flats is being trialled at present in the Kirkcaldy East area.

How are we doing?

By early 2009, Fife council had one of the highest recycling rates in Scotland.  We recycled 42% of our waste and that is thanks to you.

What else can I do?

Recycling is just one way that you can help the environment and reduce the amount of waste we send to landfill.  You can also help send less waste to landfill by reducing and reusing.

Reducing, reusing and recycling your waste is a good thing to do because it:

• Saves the Earth's natural resources
• Saves energy and reduces the risk of climate change
• Reduces the need for landfill

Waste Aware Fife

At Fife Council, we're working as part of the national campaign Waste Aware Scotland.

We're using the name Waste Aware Fife and working towards the same goals as every council in Scotland to reduce, reuse and recycle as much waste as we can.
