Kettle School was built in 1875. It is a friendly village school which serves the villages of Kingskettle and Kettlebridge and the hamlets of Kettlehills, Burnturk and Balmalcolm. The nursery is the designated nursery for the village of Pitlessie. The school has a high profile in the life of the local community.

The school building consists of five classrooms which all open on to the central hall which doubles as the gym and dining hall. A controlled entry system is in place. The twenty place nursery is housed in a separate building at the rear of the school.

Generally we aim to create a happy and stimulating environment in which children can learn to the best of their ability and develop confidence in themselves and others.

The Parent Council is active and organises  annual social and fund raising events. The school actively supports designated charities.

A residential programme at Ardroy Outdoor Education Centre is offered on a biannual basis to p6 and p7 pupils. Children have  regular opportunities in school and after school, to experience a wide variety of sports including rugby, football, cricket and netball.

The Expressive Arts curriculum is enhanced by regular visits from Music, Drama, Art and PE specialists as well as Scottish Opera for All. Guitar and piano tuition is offered. The school has a reputation for excellence in dance and music.

We aim to create a warm welcoming atmosphere for parents who are an integral part of the Kettle School family.
