Our school opened in 1970 and was previously sited in Commercial School Lane. We are proud of our long, successful history and are committed to providing a quality education which will equip pupils with skills for life long learning.

The school is situated beside the public park in the heart of the historic town of Dunfermline and enjoys an open green campus shared with our friends at the neighbouring school of St Margaret's Roman Catholic Primary School. We do not have a nursery but our children attend the nursery in St Margaret's.

The school is two stream with 14 classrooms, large games hall, dining area, ICT suite, music room, reference library, resources room, office accommodation and meeting rooms. The expansive grassed area is used for play and outdoor activities in the summer months. We share a football pitch with St Margaret's Primary School.

Continuous Professional Development for our excellent staff team (both teaching and non-teaching) is a high priority at Commercial. Their expertise ensures that we constantly strive to improve our school.

We have a successful working partnership with our School Board and Commercial School Association (parents, teachers and friends of Commercial). Many successful social and fundraising events are organised throughout the school session. Our Pupil Council meets regularly and contributes to school improvement through consultation with their peers.

The Expressive Arts curriculum is enhanced by regular visits from Music, Drama, Art and PE specialists.

Pupils in Primary 6,7 have the opportunity to play a woodwind instrument. Our woodwind band can be heard at our termly assemblies to which all parents are invited.

A residential programme at Dalguise Outdoor Centre, Perthshire is offered to Primary 7 pupils. We have a range of extra-curricular activities on offer including chess, choir, football, badminton, tennis, hockey, and athletics.

We make effective use of the local environment to support a wide curriculum as Dunfermline has a rich cultural heritage, many community networks and an expanding business community.

We look forward to working in partnership with pupils and parents to ensure the best possible education for all. Please contact us should you wish to come along and have a look around the school for yourselves.
