Pitcorthie Primary School was built in the 1950s. It is a co-educational, non-denominational school to the east of Dunfermline. The school sits near to the new housing developments.

The school has a capacity for 300 pupils plus a 100 place Nursery.  We have good facilities in school and extensive, well developed school grounds.

When the school was inspected by HMIE they praised the learning and teaching, ethos and the standard of behaviour of the pupils among many other things.

The school plays host to a Breakfast Club and an after-school care club.

The Parent Council and Friends of Pitcorthie are involved in supporting the school and also running social and fundraising activities.

Parents are involved in the Nursery and School and support a variety of activities and run the school lending library.

The Pupil Council meets termly to discuss business related to the school.

There are many extra - curriculum activities involving our Active Sports Coordinator.

The school has 'Health Promoting School' status and has the 'Green Flag' ECO award.

We are pleased to welcome parents to discuss issues at anytime.
