“March is the month of expectation, the things we do not know.” (Emily Dickinson, 1830-86)

There are millions of books to discover in 2014, so, this March, why not let us open your eyes to some new reading possibilities?

Classic science fiction gets an outing with Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep by Philip K. Dick.  Read the book the cult film, Bladerunner was based on and make up your own mind which was the better version!  New books include Wake by Anna Hope, a timely novel given the 100yr anniversary of the beginning of WW1 in 2014.  It is a story based around the days following up to the internment of the Unknown Soldier and follows the stories of three women all dealing with loss in their own way.

Another new novel - The Invention of Wings - comes from the author of the phenomenally successful novel the Secret Life of Bees, Sue Monk-Kidd.  Set in the American Deep South in the nineteenth century, it is a powerful story of cruelty and the solace that friendship can bring.

We will be taking a break for a little while to refresh and develop the format of A Right Guid Read.   Stay tuned and watch this space for the new version and, in the meantime, ‘Happy Reading!’ from the team at RGR.
