Recycling centres

You might have heard recycling centres called “civic amenity sites” or even “the dump” or “the tip”.  The new name is because we want the focus to be on recycling: the centres will recycle as many materials as they can.

You can use 11 recycling centres across Fife to recycle:

  • bulkier or larger items such as couches, furniture and washing machines
  • smaller items such as shoes, batteries, hair straighteners
  • any items with plugs or batteries such as hairdryers and microwaves

You can also throw away any other waste that you can't reuse or recycle

Before you come

Each site has containers for various types of waste. Before you come, please separate your waste into different types. But don’t worry if you’re not sure. We can give you advice on site about what goes where.
