A New Improved Recycling Service

The new four bin service will be issued to the majority of FIfe residents over the coming years. Over 4,000 households are currently on this service and Glenrothes and the surrounding area will convert to this service in September 2010.

What areas will be changing over?

• Coaltown of Balgonie
• Glenrothes
• Kinglassie
• Leslie
• Thornton

What is each bin for?

Paper and Cardboard is collected in your grey bin and is emptied every four weeks.  Find out more by visiting the paper and cardboard section.

Cans and plastics are collected in your green bin and is emptied every four weeks.  Find out more by visiting the cans and plastics section.

Food and garden waste is collected in your brown bin and is emptied every two weeks.  Find out more by visiting the food and garden waste section.

Landfill waste is collected in your blue bin and is emptied every two weeks.  Find out more by visiting the landfill waste section.

If you do not have a blue bin at present then we would recommend that you contact us using the details at the bottom of the page to request a blue bin before your bin changes over to be used for landfill waste.
