31 – 2517 ADMINISTRATION/INTERPRETATION ASSISTANT, Falkland Palace Gardens
Volunteer with IT experience to assist with
basic administration work and to take responsibility for the weekly Interpretation board.
31 – 2474 SUMMER VOLUNTEERS – Craigtoun Park, By St Andrews
Volunteers are urgently needed to help out with a variety of activities in the park including supervising putting, crazy golf, pedal cars and bouncy castle. Full training given on procedures. The park has activities every weekend until the 1st July, every day throughout July & August, then back to weekends for September and October. Amenities will be open from 10:00am - 4:30 pm each day.
31 – 2503 CONSERVATION VOLUNTEERS, Auchtermuchty Common
If you have some time to spare at weekends, why not come and be part of a project that aims to preserve this historical and botanically-important site for future generations? It requires intensive management to allow the flora and fauna to recover and flourish. No experience is necessary and training is provided in health and safety plus the use of tools. Refreshments are also provided. It’s an opportunity to meet like-minded people of all ages and enjoy being out in the fresh air.
31 – 139 VARIOUS VOLUNTEERS ROLES, Castle Furniture Project
Castle is looking for volunteers for various roles including drivers, warehouse volunteers, joiners, upholsterers, admin and also volunteers who are good with engines and upholstery. To get involved in this very successful furniture recycling project please get in touch.
31 – 2948 CHARITY SHOP VOLUNTEERS, Debra Cupar
The Debra charity shops are looking for volunteers in Cupar. Roles include visual merchandising, stock processing, drivers mates and retail cash handling.
31 – 925 PLAYLEADER ASSISTANT - Ladybank Ladybirds
The Group runs 3 mornings per week in Ladybank Church Hall. The playleader assistant would be required from 9.15 - 12.15 to assist the Playleader in setting up the hall for the session's activities. You will then have fun playing with the children ensuring they are safe, polite, sociable as well as learning. At the end of the session you will be expected to interact with the parents and then help the Playleader to tidy up.
31 – 2516 GLASSHOUSE ASSISTANT, Falkland Palace Gardens
To assist in the Victorian glasshouse and tend to plant collection.
30 – 1640 VOLUNTEER HAIRDRESSER, Fife Palliative Care Unit Victoria Hospice
Qualified hairdresser required for a maximum of three hours on a Wednesday. Duties would include: washing, setting and cutting patients’ hair. Friendly team and worthwhile volunteer role - interested?
31 – GARDENER, SUPPORT VOLUNTEERS, Express Group
Express Groups provide a safe space for people experiencing anxiety, depression and other mental health problems to meet, share a meal, activities and outings. The group meets on Monday mornings in St Andrews, Friday afternoons in Cupar and on Thursday mornings a Gardening Club meets to provide a therapeutic environment for members to grow some crops of fruit and veg which can then be cooked for a meal. Come along and share your skills and experience.
31 – 2403 RECREATION PROGRAMME SUPPORT WORKER, Options In Life
Volunteer to help support groups of young adults with disabilities to participate in outings and activities, to promote social inclusion, group activities, sport and exercise and help develop social and life skills. The activities take place in various locations, usually starting from a central meeting point. Out of pocket travel expenses will be reimbursed by Options In Life.
31 – 1499 PET FOSTERERS, Pet Fostering Service Scotland
Are you an animal lover who would like to make a real difference to local pets? PFSS are looking to recruit foster carers to provide a safe temporary home for pets in need.
31 – 1075 FIRST AIDERS, St Andrew’s First Aid
With the busy summer ahead St Andrew’s First Aid wish to boost the number of volunteers on their books. Volunteers are trained to deal with incidents and injuries ranging from cuts and bruises to heart attacks. They provide First Aid cover throughout Fife at events ranging from school days to rugby internationals, local gala days to T in the Park.
31 – 2454 PACKER, East Neuk Foodbank, Anstruther
Volunteers needed to sort and make up food parcels from foodstuffs donated. Volunteers will also be required to help to give out the parcels to those who turn up and are in need of food. Launch date is 2nd April.
31 – 2440 SECRETARY, East Neuk Frail Elderly Project
The secretary's role is an essential part of management meetings. Acting as a scribe gives the opportunity to utilise skills in a fulfilling and rewarding way. Role includes attending bi-monthly management meetings, liaising with chairperson and project officer, preparing agenda, taking minutes and distributing to committee members. Also responsible for maintaining committee minutes and any changes and/or updates on meetings.
31 – 2089/2433 BEFRIENDERS, DRIVERS, WRVS
Befrienders provide informal, occasional help to those having difficulty accessing services e.g. collecting prescriptions, shopping, library books, simple DIY or gardening. Drivers offer help with transport to those unable to access services, use the public transport system or who need additional support
31 – 2459, 2449, 2197, 2194 – VARIOUS OPPORTUNITIES with Macmillan Cancer Support
From fundraising in public places to encouraging others to get involved there’s a great variety of opportunities.
31 – 1895 JUNIOR GROUP VOLUNTEERS, Tayside Institute Community Centre
Volunteers will have the opportunity to be involved in the planning, delivery and evaluation of children’s activities for P6 and P7 aged children.
