In Celebration of Michael Brecker
Michael Brecker was an incredibly talented musician: a hugely influential saxophonist with a distinctive sound who inspired thousands of jazz players all over the world. The Brecker Brothers, his band with brother Randy, was one of the most successful jazz-funk fusion bands of the 70s.
In playing tribute to the late Michael Brecker, the SNJO are delighted that his brother Randy, one of the world’s greatest trumpet players, will join them to celebrate Michael’s music in brand new arrangements spanning vital tracks from the Brecker Brothers’1970s heyday through to the beautifully reflective atmosphere of his 2003 album,Wide Angles.
