Sheltered Housing - Spencer House, Dunfermline
Dunfermline is a large town in Fife and was once the capital of Scotland.
The 'auld grey toun' of Dunfermline is at the heart of Scotland's history and the royal and monastic past dominates the town. There are a wide number of historical venues such as the royal palace, a 12th century abbey (which is the final resting place of Robert the Bruce and the burial site of 11 other Scottish kings and queens), the restored 15th century Abbot House and the cave in which St Margaret bathed the feet of the poor.
Spencer House is a short walk to the award winning Pittencrieff Park, or locally known as “The Glen” where you can take in the vast colorful parklands on your doorstep. There are many things to do and see in the park. E.g. The Museum, this is a fascinating insight into how people lived in the past. The Greenhouses have many beautiful and exotic plants to see. The Peacocks are the main feature in the Glen, they were originally brought over from India in the 18thcentury. You can stop and enjoy a coffee or a light lunch in The Peacock Rooms, and you will find this adjoining The Pavilion.
