More information, including events at this library can be found at www.onfife.com
The Library in Newport was relaunched as Newport Library and Heritage Centre in February 2009. On display is information on the history of the Newport and Wormit area. On show are objects and photographs looking at a range of topics such as transport across the Tay, local sports & leisure and the world wars.
These heritage displays have been integrated within the library to create a facility which will appeal to both locals and visitors to the area.
The library and Heritage Centre benefits from soft seating where customers can relax, read a book or simply take some time out.
There are two public use computers, which provide free access to Microsoft Office packages and the Internet. I.T. Taster sessions can be arranged- please ask staff for further information.
A reading group for youngsters 10-14 years old meets monthly: again, please ask the staff for details. There are occasional story times and activities for children.
