Built in 1976, St. Serf's Primary is a Catholic school situated in the former mining village of High Valleyfield,

It is a semi open plan building with seven class areas accommodating five classes, an ICT suite and a Learning Support base. All classes have their own toilets, exit/entrance and designated playground area fully equipped with picnic benches and playground games. Also contained within the building is a nursery for our 3 5 year olds. For sporting activities we have an enclosed Astro-turf facility.

The school is beautifully sited on the outskirts of the village with a large field at the back of the school overlooking surrounding hills and valleys.

Children are prepared every year for the reception of the Sacraments.

We implement a full curriculum based on the guidelines of the Scottish Government Education Department. Visiting specialists support the Expressive Arts programme and we also have a strings group including violin, cello and double bass.

After school clubs include Football, Karate and Dance. We are also involved in the Homework Club run in the local Community centre. The pupil council is elected at the beginning of each year. Primary 7 pupils embark on a residential experience annually

St Serf s has a very strong Parent Council who support the school in many ways and have successful fundraising activities throughout the year. The local elected member to Fife Council, Bobby Clelland, attends meetings at least once per year.

Being a small village school we are always happy to welcome any parents or friends of the school.
