The new Fair Isle Primary opened in November 2006.

The school caters for pupils from Primary 1 to 7 and has close links with Fair Isle Nursery which is situated adjacent to the school.

The new building is spacious with a lot of natural light and ventilation. There is a music room, library / I.C.T. suite, Sensory Room, Medical / First Aid rooms, a variety of soft / withdrawal rooms, a separate gym and dining hall and the capacity for 14 teaching classrooms.

The overall design allows for a very inclusive teaching and learning environment.

The building is at the heart of the local community in Templehall, Kirkcaldy, and is very well used, especially since the launch of our 'Opportunities for All' project funded by the Big Lottery. Our Community Lounge, Parents' Room and gym facilities are well used by a variety of groups during and beyond the school day. There is a daily breakfast club for pupils.

We have excellent facilities to allow for greater parent and carer involvement. Our resident Family Worker supports pupils and families, and our Educational Consultant develops young minds through Philosophical Enquiry.

Fair Isle Primary is a Restorative School and the pupils participate in Cool in School training both of which help the pupils examine how their actions and behaviours affect others. We have Primary 7 Prefects and Playground Pals who supervise games for the younger pupils in the playground.

There is an active Pupil Council and our Eco Committee - Eco Extreme which has parent and pupil members also meet regularly. There is a Parent Council which meets regularly in school allowing parents and staff to work together.
