Pitcoudie Primary School was opened in 1978 to serve the Barlfarg, Cadham and Pitcoudie areas of Glenrothes.

The main school building comprises :-

  • four open plan wings, each accommodating two or three classes
  • one wing with a single classroom and an ICT Suite
  • a Learning Support base
  • games hall / dining area
  • an auxiliary support base
  • side rooms / resource areas / storage areas
  • office accommodation

Expansive and attractive grounds are used for play, outdoor games and sports and, within these grounds we have two classes housed in hutted accomodation, a Music Room and a Drama Room and a new, purpose-built 50/50 Nursery.

The school aims to create an ethos where pupils, parents and staff work together in partnership to produce the highest possible standard of education for all pupils.

Pitcoudie School’s broad-based curriculum is enhanced by regular visits from Music, Drama, P.E. and Art specialists. We also benefit from the expertise of two Learning Support teachers, four Special Needs Auxiliaries and two Classroom Assistants.

School life is enriched by various activities, including opportunities for instrumental instruction, attendance at after-school clubs and annual residential experiences for P6 and P7 pupils.

Our School Board and Parents’ Association are well-established and many of our parents are volunteer helpers during the school day. Our Pupil Council meets regularly to discuss concerns and issues raised by pupils.

Pitcoudie is a happy, welcoming and friendly school and we would be pleased to meet with anyone who is interested in finding out more about us.
