Ladybird Family Nurture Centre opened in 1977. It is a large building, built on a slope with a large open area for two groups of children aged 3-5. On a higher level is a suite of rooms used for younger children and also for extended care. All food is prepared on the premises and children staying for dinner eat in the dining room.

Our aim is to support children and their families according to their needs.

We offer all children a broad balanced curriculum, encouraging them to achieve the highest possible standards according to their ability.

The nursery was initially jointly funded between the Education and Social Work Services. The funding enables the nursery to be open for extended days and for the full year. Transport may be available.

We offer places to all eligible children in the three to five age group who live in the local area. Most children move onto Warout Primary School. We are also able to offer places to children in the wider catchment area where a priority has been identified and assessed by professionals from the Education Service, Social Work Service or Health Service. These children may be younger and are offered a place in the toddlers area until old enough to move to a nursery place at their local nursery.

We have developed excellent relationships with visiting professionals and work in partnership to enable us to help children reach their maximum potential.

We aim to build good relationships and partnerships with families by respecting them and their opinions.

We offer regular times to meet to discuss your child's progress as well as holding parent meetings.  We are establishing a Friends of Ladybird group to support the work of the nursery.

We are pleased to meet with parents and carers who wish to discuss any aspects of the nursery. Please come and look around.
