Purpose of consultation

You can play a part in helping Fife Council’s work on developing the Gaelic language.

The Gaelic Language (Scotland) Act 2005was passed by the Scottish Parliament and seeks to secure the status of Gaelic as an official language of Scotland commanding equal respect to the English language.  Fife Council first Gaelic Language Plan 2015-18, sets out how we will take forward our work to support and promote the use of Gaelic throughout the Region in conjunction with Bòrd na Gàidhlig(the Gaelic Board).

We would welcome your feedback on our draft plan before our formal submission to Bòrd na Gàidhlig.
