Welcome to Fife Council’s Housing Options Self-Assessment tool (HOSA)
Please take the time to read this page before you begin.
There is a limited affordable housing to rent within Fife and demand is high. On average, 2700 properties become available for rent each year. This is across the main 5 housing providers:
- Fife Council
- Kingdom Housing Association
- Fife Housing Association
- Glen Housing Association
- Ore Valley Housing Association)
There is approximately 11,000 households on the Fife Housing Register. These allocations are split between all housing needs categories within our individual allocations policies. This means that we are not in a position to offer a property to everyone who applies. In most cases the Council and partner Housing Associations only allocate to those most in need.
We have introduced this self-assessment tool to help you find out all the housing options that are available. It asks a series of questions (including household size, tenure, income, etc). It provides you with a summary of housing options that are suitable and affordable for you. It takes on average between 5 to 15 minutes to complete. You can go back to it anytime by using the unique reference number or you can print it off.
You can access information on benefits advice, financial and budgeting advice, employability agencies through:
CARF, Shelter, Independent Advice Agencies, Welfare rights advice, Trust in Fife Keyfund, FHR partners.
