Building Fife's Future

Building Fife's Future is an exciting investment programme to build state-of-the-art schools in Fife.  This will allow us to develop our school estate and deliver Curriculum for Excellence in high quality, educational establishments.

Our ambition is to create schools for the 21st century and beyond and it is vital that these buildings feature high quality design; are highly functional; sustainable in all senses; fit for a modern curriculum; adaptable to future needs; promote a culture of lifelong learning within communities and be a source of pride for future generations.

We are determined not to create "new old schools".  Schools should be landmark buildings and the hub of the community which they serve.  They should be lifelong learning centres that by design, raise the motivation, aspiration and attainment of the learners who use them.

The schools currently involved in the programme are:

  • Auchmuty High School
  • Dunfermline High School
  • Madras College
  • New High School for Levenmouth
  • New High School for Kirkcaldy
  • New Burntisland Primary School
  • Carnegie Primary School
  • Waid Academy

Carnegie Primary School, Auchmuty High School and Dunfermline High School are now occupied.
