Money worries? Help is available

Money worries? Help is available

MORE and more people are finding things tough financially and if you’re facing a change to benefits or income, it can be even harder.

There is help out there though. Fife Council, in partnership with other organisations including Citizens Advice and Right Fife (CARF) and Cosy Kingdom, are on hand to help.

Co-Leader of Fife Council, Councillor David Alexander said: “Money is an issue for many people across Fife, not just for those on benefits; we’re also seeing an increase in the number of people who are in in-work poverty.

“As a council we’re doing everything we can to help people manage their money better and let them know what their options are if they’re struggling financially.

“We’ve pulled all the information together in one place, so whether you’re looking to see what help is out there, or if you want to get your finances in order, there is help available.”

Council Co-Leader, Councillor David Ross, added: “Too many people in Fife are struggling with their finances – facing challenges managing money day-to-day, in planning and preparing for life events and for the longer term. With the Easter holidays just around the corner many people will also be worrying about how they’re going to manage to pay for that.

“The most important thing is to know you’re not alone and that help is available. Speak to your friends and family - alternatively you can visit www.fifedirect.org.uk/moneyadvice to access a range of services that can help you manage your money.

“Please don’t wait until things get out of control, we’re here to help so please get in touch.”
