Door Open Days 2018
Doors across Fife will once again be thrown open as Doors Open Days 2018 gets underway in September.
There are three ‘DOORS OPEN’ days for Fife regions on Sunday 2nd, 9th and 16th September this year. This fantastic annual event organises free admission to interesting and unusual places, allowing you to explore building that are often closed to the public for the rest of the year.
Access to buildings, walks and exhibitions will be opened up in East Fife on Sunday 2 September, followed by Central Fife on Sunday 9 September and West Fife on Sunday 16 September.
From old churches to new galleries, archaeological collection to modern creative studios. Whether you’re interested in the old or the new, this year’s diverse range of over 40 venues and guided walks means there’s something of interest for everyone.
Councillor Altany Craik, Convener of the Economy, Tourism, Strategic Planning & Transportation committee, said: “These events give people a chance to learn more about the deep history and the modern culture of our own towns and villages here in Fife. This is also a fantastic opportunity to welcome visitors to Fife from across Scotland and even further afield as the popularity of European Heritage Days grows throughout the UK.
“It’s great that so many volunteer groups, organisations and businesses take part, letting us see inside some of the fascinating places right on our doorstep..”
