We’ll be installing new traffic calming features on Main Street, Hill of Beath from Swintons place to the B981 Broad Street. Work will start on Tuesday 16th July and will take around ten days.

Cllr Altany Craik, Convener of Economy, Tourism, Strategic Planning and Transportation Committee said: “We maintain over 2,400 km of roads in Fife. Our road network is vital to support economic development, inward investment, tourism, leisure and travel to work. Almost everyone in Fife uses our roads on a daily basis, which is why this type of maintenance work is so essential.”

To carry out these works safely the road will be closed from Tuesday 16th July until complete. A sign posted diversion will be in place directing traffic via the B981 Broad Street and Woodend Place.

Access for emergency services will be maintained at all times.

Bus services will be disrupted during these works. For more information contact Stagecoach on 01592 645680 or visit

Cllr Craik concluded: “We apologise for any inconvenience and delay caused by these essential works, and we will try to keep any disturbance to a minimum. Your patience and co-operation during this time is greatly appreciated.”
