A new veterans breakfast club is set to launch on Wednesday 6th June at Leuchars Station Army Base.

Rod Cavanagh, Armed Forces & Veterans Community Champion explained: “This is an innovative project aiming to foster comradeship and provide a warm, friendly environment for serving military and Forces Veterans to meet.

“The need for such a project was identified by the ‘Fife Community Covenant Partnership’, a body that meets at the Station every quarter to look after the interests of serving personnel, their families and veterans in Fife.”

The first breakfast club on 6th June will run from 10am until 12 noon. For a reasonable £2.50 veterans and serving personnel can enjoy some lighthearted banter with a hot breakfast roll and tea or coffee.

The breakfast club will be a monthly fixture, running on the first Wednesday of every month for a four-month trial period.

Cllr Cavanagh added: “Fife has had a long and proud association with the military, from the days of the RAF at Leuchars and the Royal Navy in Rosyth, as well as a number of Reserve and Cadet units.  A warm welcome awaits all personnel, past and present, for what the organisers hope will be a very rewarding experience.”
