Calaiswood School was recently inspected by an HMI team and their report has now been published.  The school achieved ratings of "Very Good" across the four Quality Indicators which were inspected.

Key strengths were noted as:

  • Children and young people who are happy and reading to learn in a stimulating and caring environment.
  • Skilled and professional staff.
  • The very effective leadership of the Headteacher and her promotion of inclusion across the campus.
  • The support offered to families through strong partnership working.

Councillor Fay Sinclair, Convenor of the Education and Children's Services Committee said "This is a superb report which reflects the great work going on in Calaiswood School.  It is particularly good to see the school's links with the local and wider community highlighted as a strength, reflecting the ethos of inclusion within the Duloch community campus".

Headteacher, Deborah Davidson said "We are delighted that the inspection report has recognised how individual pupil's needs are very well met by a skilled and professional staff team. We have strived to provide strong support for our families through partnership working and this has also been mpted as a key strength.  A strong sense of inclusion across the campus and wider community for all pupils has also been recognised.  As a school we will continue to develop our approaches to planning, tracking and monitoring to allow us to measure progress and build on opportunities for pupils to be more involved in decisions about the wider school life".
