Health and Wellbeing Accreditation Framework

All schools continue on their journey through the Health and Wellbeing Accreditation Framework.

Moderation of the accreditation framework continues.

Curriculum for Excellence: Health and Wellbeing

Support Materials:

Materials supporting the health and wellbeing experiences and outcomes are available on  this website ( www.healthpromotingschoolsfife.co.uk ) and can be accessed through the curriculum for excellence folder.

The Curriculum Design Support Materials and Milestone documents in this section provides examples of progression, cross curricular links and partnership working that may help education staff and all contributing services in taking forward the health and wellbeing outcomes.

The suggestions provided to support the outcomes are not prescriptive and can be changed to meet the needs of children, young people and the whole school community. The folder also contains Reflection Tools for use by all staff.

There are also national documents available in this section of the website.

Health and Wellbeing Strategy

The Health and Wellbeing Strategy has been updated in line with emerging National and Local policy and practice. It can be found on the Home page of this website.

Administration of Emergency Medication Awareness Raising Sessions

Please Note there will be 4 Initial Session and 12 Update Sessions run for all education establishments from September 2015 – May 2016.

Please be aware the venue and timings have changed.

Venue: Kirkcaldy High School, Kirkcaldy
Time: 10am - 1pm

Schools were sent:

  • List of dates and venues for awareness raising sessions on the Administration of Emergency Medicines for Session 2015-2016 (Initial training and Update training). These sessions must be booked through the staff CLMS system.
  • Tick list for all schools to ensure annual and regular review of protocols and processes for pupils who require regular medication and emergency medicines in school.

All educational establishments should have someone attend the sessions whether or not they have pupils who require medication at that time. Problems arise when pupils who do require medication enrol in the school mid-term.

Child Protection Training: Education Staff

Child Protection Training for Child Protection Co-ordinators is Mandatory.

Title: Child Protection Co-ordinator (Education) Initial Training Full Day

This course is for New Child Protection Co-ordinators. It covers practice and procedures for Child Protection and in particular the role in supporting pupils and staff with Child Protection/Care & Welfare issue. The session is interactive and proved the opportunity to discuss any issues experienced to date.

All staff must access the course through the staff CLMS system.

Staff will choose one of the 4 dates on offer.

Venue: Fair Isle Primary School Kirkcaldy

Full Day: 9.30-16.00
Thursday 24th September 2015
Thursday 3rd December 2015
Thursday 25th February 2016
Thursday 26th May 2016

Please note that a light lunch will be provided to participants on this training course.

Title: Child Protection Co-ordinator (Education) Update Training Twilight

The Twilight sessions are for Child Protection Co-ordinators who require Update training every 2 years.  The session covers evolving practice and procedures for Child Protection/Care & Welfare issues.

All staff must access the session through the staff CLMS system.

Staff will choose one of the 4 dates on offer.

Venue: Fair Isle Primary School Kirkcaldy

Twilight: 4pm - 6.00pm
Thursday 17th September 2015
Thursday 10th December 2015
Thursday 3rd March 2016
Thursday 9th June instead of 2nd June 2016

We must vacate the venue by 6 pm therefore the training will start promptly at 4 pm.

Child Protection Multi-agency Training

It is advisable to attend Multi-agency training as well as education in-house training.

All staff must access Multi-agency Training via the Fife Child Protection Committee Inter-Agency Child Protection Training free of charge.
