The Links Market returns to Kirkcaldy on 18 April for six days of excitement and fun.

Taking place on the Esplanade, the Links Market is reputedly the longest fair in Europe and dates back over 700 years. The open air funfair, which has been known to attract up to 25,000 visitors a day, will open at 2.00pm on Wednesday 18 April and run until the Monday evening.

Stephen Duffy, Kirkcaldy parks, streets and open spaces team manager explained: "The Links Market is one of Europe's most modern street fairs and we are expecting up to 8,000 people to be attending during peak times.

“The road closures starting at Charlotte Street through to the entrance of Morrisons will be in force from 10.00 pm on Saturday 14 April until 4.00 pm on Wednesday 25 April.

"The Esplanade is closed to vehicles during the market, allowing the area to become pedestrianized.

"Fife Council is working closely with the emergency services and the Showmen's Guild to ensure visitors have a great experience at the event."
