Special Visitors to Strathallan and Calaiswood Out of School Clubs

Archived news: published on Tuesday 19 Jul 2016 by Fife Council

The school summer holidays can feel like a long time, but at Strathallan and Calaiswood Out of School Clubs they not only are going out and about this summer, they have been lucky enough to get some very special visitors in the shape of two Therapy Ponies.

Therapy Ponies Scotland offer therapeutic visits to care homes, nursing homes and hospitals and now they come to our out of school clubs too – with their very special Miniature Shetland Ponies.

Measuring less than 26 inches in height it was Herbie and Flicker who visited recently and the children helped with exercising the ponies in the playground and grooming them – including adding just a few hairclips for decorations. Thankfully these are very gentle and well behaved ponies and the children delighted in giving them both lots of attention.

Here is Flicker modelling his latest hair accessories.
