Vote for the Carnegie Oak to be the Tree of the Year 2017!

The Carnegie Oak stands in Pittencrieff Park, known locally as the Glen, and this year it has been selected as a finalist for the Tree of the Year 2017 competition.

It was planted in 1904 by the world famous indutrialist and philanthropist Andrew Carnegie when he returned to his hometown of Dunfermline to visit his beloved Pittencrieff Glen.  The Glen was  gifted to the people of Dunfermline by its most famous son who was born a stones throw from the park.
