Fife Council Family Placement at Fife Pride 2018
Fife Council is asking more people from the LGBT community to consider fostering and adopting. Members of the Family Placement Team were part of the parade at the Fife Pride festival in Kirkcaldy to raise awareness and talk to interested people.
Linda Fraser Family Placement Team Manager said: “We had a great day and lots of people came to our stand to ask about adoption and fostering. The Fife Pride event was an excellent opportunity to raise awareness amongst the LGBT community which we know is under represented in Fife.
Fife Council is committed to recruiting more adopters and foster carers and supporting them through the application process and beyond. We recently received a highly positive report from the Care Inspectorate and we are continuing to improve our services based on the feedback from adopters and foster carers.
We urgently need people who can care for older children, help sibling groups stay together and provide permanent homes. We are calling on people who have the right skills and qualities to foster and adopt to come forward and help a child belong.”
