This month, Fife Council will begin the replacement of Burnside Bridge, Newburgh.

Realm Construction Ltd have been appointed to undertake the works starting Monday 27 March 2017 for 12 weeks.

A temporary bridge and footpath diversion will be in place during the works. This will allow one lane of the carriageway to remain open with traffic lights in operation. As a further safety precaution the speed limit will be reduced to 20mph during the construction works.

Mike Thorpe, Service Manager for Structural Services said: “This masonry arch bridge is to be replaced as part of our programme of bridge works to ensure it meets modern standards for traffic loading.”

“We apologise for any inconvenience and delay caused by these essential works, and we’ll try to keep any disturbance to a minimum. Your patience and co-operation during this time is appreciated.”
