Archived news: published on Tuesday 17 Apr 2018 by Fife Council

Parents have been informed today that a new secondary school catchment review for schools in Dunfermline and the surrounds will begin today, Tuesday 17th May and will end on Tuesday 29th May . There will be a series of public meetings and drop-in events, where families can hear more and ask any questions they may have.

Four public meetings will be held in the assembly halls of the following schools:

  • Dunfermline High School on Thursday 19 April 2018 from 6.00-7.30 pm
  • Woodmill High School on Monday 23 April 2018 from 6.00-7.30 pm
  • Queen Anne High School on Tuesday 24 April 2018 from 6.00-7.30 pm
  • Inverkeithing High School on Wednesday 23 May 2018 from 6.00-7.30 pm

At these meetings officials will give a presentation on the proposal, answer questions and record any feedback.

There will also be a number of informal drop-in events:

  • Dunfermline High School on Thursday 19 April 2018 from 5.00-6.00 pm
  • Woodmill High School on Monday 23 April 2018 from 5.00-6.00 pm
  • Queen Anne High School on Tuesday 24 April 2018 from 5.00-6.00 pm
  • Inverkeithing High School on Wednesday 23 May 2018 from 5.00-6.00 pm

At the drop-in sessions officers will be able to give further information on the proposal, answer questions and provide Consultation Response Forms.
A number of changes proposed in the catchment review are designed to correct historical anomalies within catchments and they will, predominantly, ease pressure on Woodmill High School. The proposal is to rezone the catchment areas of Dunfermline, Inverkeithing, Queen Anne and Woodmill High Schools.
This would  mean:

  • rezoning  addresses within the Camdean Primary School catchment area from Dunfermline High School to Inverkeithing High School.
  • rezoning addresses within the Kings Road Primary School catchment area from Dunfermline High School to Inverkeithing High School.
  • rezoning addresses within the Masterton Primary School catchment area from Woodmill High School to Dunfermline High School.
  • rezoning addresses within the Limekilns Primary School catchment area from Woodmill High School to Dunfermline High School.
  • rezoning addresses within the Torryburn Primary School catchment area from Inverkeithing High School to Queen Anne High School.
  • rezoning addresses within the Tulliallan Primary School catchment area from Dunfermline High School to Queen Anne High School.
  • rezoning those Canmore Primary School addresses currently within Woodmill High School catchment to Dunfermline High School catchment.
  • rezoning those Pitreavie Primary School addresses currently within Woodmill High School catchment to Dunfermline High School catchment.
  • rezoning those Commercial Primary School addresses currently within Woodmill High School catchment to Dunfermline High School catchment.
  • rezoning those Commercial Primary School addresses currently within Queen Anne High School catchment to Dunfermline High School catchment.

If these changes were to be approved re-zoning would take place from August 2019.
