Archived news: published on Tuesday 18 Apr 2017 by Fife Council

Residents of the Headwell area of Dunfermline have come together to re-establish their local community council to act on behalf of the area.

Following a petition from the community, the Headwell Community Council will be re-established and people who are interested in joining are being invited to apply to be a community councillor.

Community Councils are comprised of people who care about their community and want to make it a better place to live. As well as representing the community, Community Councils facilitate activities which promote their communities and bring local people together to help make things happen.

If you are interested in becoming a community councillor in Headwell, or just finding out more about what’s involved, nomination packs are available from local offices and libraries in the Headwell area or from the Fife Council Community Council Liaison Officer, email communitycouncils@fife.gov.uk ; telephone 03451 555555 extension 442346.  Nomination packs can also be downloaded by clicking here

To re-establish the Headwell Community Council, between 6 and 12 eligible nominations must be received. If more than 12 nominations are received, an election will take place on Thursday 15th June.
