Glenrothes Energy Network
The road in front of McDonald’s will re-open this week following efforts to speed up road works for Glenrothes Energy Network.
All businesses in Queensway Industrial Estate in Glenrothes are open as normal with sign-posted diversions in place to direct traffic. From Friday 12 October 2018 the road will be closed on the Queensgate just past McDonald’s entrance to the roundabout at Asda. Access to Asda is via Fullerton Road.
Kingdom Avenue outside Kingdom House will be closed to traffic from Monday 15 October 2018. A sign-posted diversion will direct traffic via North Street.
Ross Tulloch, Glenrothes Energy Network programme manager said: “We’d like to thank the local businesses and road users for their patience as we carry out these essential works.
“We’re working with the contractor to minimise as much disruption as possible. In addition to normal working hours the contractor is working weekends to progress works as quickly as possible.
“All businesses in the area are open as usual and for people travelling to Asda please follow the sign-posted diversion via Fullerton Road. Road users should give themselves extra time when travelling as delays are unavoidable.”
Glenrothes Energy Network is a £24 million collaborative local heat scheme. It will provide sustainable low carbon heat to a mix of industrial, commercial, community and domestic properties in Glenrothes as well as the Fife House complex.
