Cllr Altany Craik
This October, Fife Council will invest £155,000 improving the road network in Dunfermline.
We’ll be carrying out carriageway resurfacing on Townhill Road, Dunfermline from Saturday 7th October for up to two weeks.
Cllr Altany Craik, Convener of Economy, Tourism, Strategic Planning and Transportation Committee said: “We maintain over 2,400 km of roads in Fife and we’re spending nearly £8 million this year repairing and improving them.
“Our road network is vital to support economic development, inward investment, tourism, leisure and travel to work. Almost everyone in Fife uses our roads on a daily basis, which is why this type of maintenance work is so essential.”
Affected streets - Blair Drive, Lauder Street, Donald Street and Chamberfield Street will be closed at their junctions with Townhill Road; diversion routes will be signposted.
A temporary traffic restriction order will also be in place, meaning that all parking will be suspended on Townhill Road from Leny Place to Kingseat Road during the works.
There will be access for emergency services but access for residents and businesses will be at the discretion of the contractor.
Bus services on Arthur Street and Robertson Road will be affected by the works. For more information contact Stagecoach on (01592) 645680 or visit www.stagecoachbus.com
Cllr Craik concluded: “We apologise for any inconvenience and delay caused by these essential works, and we’ll try to keep any disturbance to a minimum. Your patience and co-operation during this time is greatly appreciated.”
