Cllr Altany Craik
This October, Fife Council will invest £119,000 improving the road network in Kirkcaldy.
We’ll be carrying out carriageway resurfacing on Forth Avenue and Bennochy Road, Kirkcaldy from Monday 9th October for up to two weeks.
Cllr Altany Craik, Convener of Economy, Tourism, Strategic Planning and Transportation Committee said: “We maintain over 2,400 km of roads in Fife and we’re spending nearly £8 million this year repairing and improving them.
“Our road network is vital to support economic development, inward investment, tourism, leisure and travel to work. Almost everyone in Fife uses our roads on a daily basis, which is why this type of maintenance work is so essential.”
Forth Avenue - Work will be carried out in two phases under a road closure from just north of the Oriel Road roundabout to the Bennochy Road roundabout. Diversion routes will be signed as work progresses.
Bennochy Road and roundabout - From Bennochy Avenue to Forth Avenue. Bennochy Road will be closed southbound (northbound traffic only). Diversion routes will be via Bennochy Road, Massereene Road and Forth Avenue.
There will be access for emergency services but no access for residents and businesses during the working day.
Bus services will follow the diversion routes during the works. For more information contact Stagecoach on (01592) 645680 or visit www.stagecoachbus.com
Cllr Craik concluded: “We apologise for any inconvenience and delay caused by these essential works, and we’ll try to keep any disturbance to a minimum. Your patience and co-operation during this time is greatly appreciated.”
