This hands on practical first aid course at Lochgelly High School will alow the candidates to gain a basic level of competence in paediatric first aid skills. It will be run over two evenings both must be attended, 17/04/2018 and 24/04/2018. There will be a tutor based competence assessment at the end of the course with a valid certificate for 3 years. At the end of course candidates will have knowledge of the following:

Rescuscitation

Choking

Bleeding and Shock

Burns and Scalds

Child related conditions (asthma, croup, etc)

Epileptic fits

What should be in a comprehensive first aid box

 

This certificate course costs £77.50 per person and is approved for ITA. Through Skills Development Scotland, you may be eligible to apply for an Individual Traing Account, giving you up to £200 to spend on learning or training. ITA's are for people who are 16 or over and living in Scotland. You must have an income of £22,000 a year or less, or be on benefits to be eligible.
