Remember to make sure your details are correct
HOUSEHOLDS across Fife are being reminded to check that the information that appears on the electoral register for those living at their address is correct.
Annual household enquiry forms were sent to all households in the middle of July to ensure that the electoral register for Fife is up to date and the next stage of the process has just started.
Reminders have been sent to those households that didn’t return their Household Enquiry Form by 8 August and from those who did, anyone identified as being new to an address will receive an Invitation to Register in the next few days.
Mike Melville, depute registration officer for Fife, said: “Reminders have been sent out to households that didn’t reply to the form so that anyone eligible living at their address, who isn’t currently registered to vote, has the chance to do so. Although this isn’t a registration form, it’s still important that you complete it.
“It’s also important to include those aged 15 or over by 30 November 2019 so they are on the register when they become old enough to vote. 16-year-olds will be able to vote in any Local and Scottish Government elections.
“So if you haven’t already returned the form, simply check it and reply as soon as possible.
“And for those households that have replied, please make sure you respond to the invitation to register to vote so you don’t miss out on having your say should any elections be called.
“Registering to vote is quick and easy. If you’re not currently registered, you can find out how to register at www.fifedirect.org.uk/electoralregister ”
