Fife Council fostering families give children the stability, care and fun all kids deserve at Christmas.
Ella a member of 2BHeard, a group for care experienced children and young people said: Christmas, with my foster family is great they look after me as their own, their Christmas is my Christmas, their family is my family.”
Chanel also a member of 2BHeard said: “Christmas is special and important. Foster carers do a great job and can make all the difference at Christmas time.”
Cllr Bryan Poole Executive Spokesperson for Children and Families said: Christmas is a special time for everyone; a time for family, a season of giving, and enjoying the warmth of home. This is why we need foster carers who can open up their homes to children who can’t live with their birth parents, to provide them with warmth and security all year round.
Contact us today if you are interested in offering a new home for foster children and give them memories that last a lifetime.
Being a Foster Carer is one of the most challenging and rewarding roles anyone can play in a child’s life. We are keen to recruit more foster carers in Fife so that the children and young people can stay as close to their local communities as possible. If you feel you could make a difference to a child in Fife contact the Family Placement Team on 01383 602235.”
The 2BHeard group wrote this poem expressing what Christmas means to them.
Christmas is coming
Children will be laughing
Lots of gifts to open
Enjoyment will be heard
Space will be giving to those who need
Family will be seen
It could all be different
Sadness is allowed
Through all the happiness you get
And give to all around
There will be warmth and understanding
Opportunity to support
Made to feel like part of the family
At the end and at the start
