Description The purpose of this document is to provide procedures to ensure that NAEM are not exposed to significant risks whilst carrying out their job and assists with the compliance of the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999. The document also provides a common standard regarding the types of welfare facilities that should be considered as good practice. The need to assess the risk for NAEM is a legal requirement. All employers have a responsibility to conduct a risk assessment of their employees; the assessment should also include any specific risks to females of childbearing age who could become pregnant and any risks to new and expectant mothers. This document also provides guidance for managers and employees when an employee returns to work and wishes to continue breastfeeding after returning to work.
