School

Glenwood High School is a comprehensive, co-educational and non-denominational school serving the western part of the town of Glenrothes together with communities to the north and west.

The school opened in 1962 and the original accommodation, which has been enhanced by a substantial building programme of extension, reconstruction and renovation completed in 1982, provides the school with full, modern facilities within one compact site. These facilities include a well equipped Library and Information Centre; a games hall, gymnasium, fitness and dance studio, fitness suite, drama studio, swimming pool and extensive playing fields; a purpose built suite of music rooms and eight computer rooms.

At Glenwood High School we provide a learning environment where every young person can grow in confidence within stable and encouraging surroundings. By providing a safe and inclusive environment, our school ethos creates respect and responsibility for all young people and staff.

Young people are encouraged to adopt the values of hard work, self-discipline and respect for others. We believe that every child has individual talents and unique potential and our entire educational process is based on the understanding that young people need to have their potential recognised and nurtured.
