Topic

This term we have been enjoying lots of Julia Donaldson books. We have focused lots of the different characters and settings in the stories. We have loved hearing about all the different adventures and creating some of our own. We have had our own adventure this term with our move to Tulliallan which has been really exciting. This has been a great oppertunity to make new friends with pupils from Tullillan P1 and P2/3 classes through shared lessons in school and at the woods. We are looking forward to continuing this work over the next few terms.

Expressive Arts

We have been developing our drawing skills and really trying to include as much detail as possible in our pictures. We created self portraits and it was a real challenge to remember to draw all our body parts and to make our picture look as much like us a possible.

In gym we have been developing our listening skills as we learning new games. We have really worked on moving around the hall safely and in different ways.

Other news

Due to our move to Tulliallan our gym day is now a Tuesday. We recommend leaving gym kits hanging on pegs in school so that the children’s gym kit is always available. Please ensure names are on all items of clothing as it makes it easier to reunite items with their owner if things become misplaced or lost.

Outdoor learning will take place on a Wednesday afternoon. Please ensure your child has a pair of sturdy boots, a waterproof coat and a change of clothes if you wish. Pupils will be given time to change into outdoor gear before lunch. As always, parent helpers are always welcome.

Reading books and word walls have been sent home for P2/3. Please feel free to write comments in the reading diaries and sign to indicate that reading has been completed at home. It is best if the children keep their reading folders in their bags to ensure that they are equipped for reading groups in class.
