Welcome to the Inverkeithing High School website
We hope that as a learner, member of staff, parent/ carer, partner or interested visitor that you will find all the relevant and useful information you might be seeking about our school.
Our aim here is for you to gain a flavour of the activities, the curricular and extra-curricular achievements and successes at Inverkeithing High School, as well as providing you with a real sense of the vision and values which underpin everything we do.
Inverkeithing High School is a non-denominational comprehensive school which formally opened in 1972 and serves the communities of south-west Fife. The school buildings are also very heavily used for Community Use in the evenings and at weekends. The school has a roll of 1157 and FMR is 8.3% against a national average of 14.4%.
The school is very proud of its record of sustained high levels of attainment and achievement over time with our S4, S5 and S6 pupils yet again producing some of our best results ever for the school in Summer 2018. Our S5 pupils performed particularly well with significant improvements in key performance indicators – 1, 3 and 5 Level 6 qualifications. We have also strategically targeted attainment in Literacy and Numeracy, with performance at level 4 in S4 remaining significantly beyond our comparator schools and attainment at level 5 showing a very significant increase.
Inverkeithing High School has a very positive learning ethos and takes pride in its positive relationships between its young people and staff. We actively promote an expression of our Vision, Values and Aims:
Our Vision is based on our motto - ‘Grow by Choice’. As a school community, we strive to motivate each individual to take ownership and responsibility for their own learning and to therefore achieve their full potential
Our Values – Inverkeithing ROCS: Respect, Opportunity, Commitment, Success
Our Aims – Treat each other fairly; Be the best we can be; Make a positive difference to others and the environment
Promoting Positive Behaviour – our three school rules are Ready, Respectful and Responsible
We hope that you enjoy our site and finding out more about the school. Please let me know if you have any comments or questions about the school, and don’t hesitate to contact us at any time if you need any further information or advice.
