Welcome to Auchtertool Primary School

Our school is situated within the beautiful village of Auchtertool and our catchment area includes the extensive surrounding rural area in central Fife. Our school is part of the Balwearie High School Area Group along with Kirkcaldy West, Dunnikier, Strathallan, Kinghorn and Burntisland Primary Schools.

Our school consists of two one hundred year old buildings. Our upper building contains our two classrooms and our staff room. The lower building contains the school office. Our school hall, which is used for dining and for many other curricular activities, is also in the lower building. We occupy  a central position in Auchtertool, set back from the main road and adjacent to the local recreation park which pupils can use in fine weather as an extension to the playground facilities. Our Eco Committe and Pupil Council have been developing our playground and are keeping it a happy place to learn and play.

We currently have two classes, P1/3, and P4/7.  Mrs Ritchie and Mrs Strang teach the P4-7 class, while Mrs Arnold teaches the P1-3 class.

We are very fortunate to be supported by  our Parent Council which works hard to provide support for both school and parents. Our Pupil Council meet regularly, as do our Eco Committe, Health Committee and Rights Respecting Schools Group.

In our school we really enjoy  taking part in many different activities in school and are proud to take part in cluster leagues in rugby, netball and basketball this year. We have the opportunity to go to multi-activity classes and hockey after school and frequently try  new sports and activities such as orienteering and paddlesports.

We aim to create an ethos in our school that develops the talents of all our pupils and provide the highest possible standard of education within a happy working environment.

We are always pleased to meet with parents who wish to discuss any aspect of our school.

Many thanks for visiting our school website.

Mrs Carolyn Ritchie
