Welcome to Thornton Primary School's information site.

We hope that by browsing our school site you can find out more information about our school.

Thornton Primary is over 100 years old having been built in 1904. With a current role of 255 including 44 children in the nursery, this non-denominational school serves the expanding village of Thornton and the surrounding area including the Traveller's Site at Heatherywood.

The main school building houses 8 classrooms, a science classroom, a support for learning classroom, a large central learning area, gym hall and office accommodation. A nursery facility catering for up to 60 three and four year old children is set within the school grounds. The playground is spacious and has a wide selection of play and seating arrangements with a garden which is continually being developed.

We are always pleased to meet with parents to discuss any aspects of our school.

Appointments can be made through the School Office.
