Individual request for flexible working

This subject contains information about flexible working alternatives to full time working spread across the full "normal" working week. The Employment Act 2002 and subsequent legislation provided rights for employees to request to work flexibly subject to certain criteria being met. There is a duty on Fife Council to consider requests but no absolute right for them to be granted. Any refusal, however, must be for justifiable reasons.

In addition all Single Status employees have the opportunity to make flexible working requests even if they have no statutory right.
