This report concluded that Fife Council should continue to monitor air quality concentrations throughout Fife, produce an Annual Progress Report in 2019 reporting concentrations measured during 2018 and continue to implement the measures outlines in the Air Quality Action Plans (AQAPs) for both Appin Crescent, Dunfermline and Bonnygate, Cupar
 
This report concluded that Fife Council should maintain and enhance (where appropriate) the current air quality monitoring programme and continue to implement the measures outlines in the upgraded Air Quality Action Plans (AQAPs) for both Appin Crescent, Dunfermline and Bonnygate, Cupar.
 
The report describes an updated air quality assessment of the estimated future baseline air quality, and the impacts of additional road traffic generated by the proposed expansion of Dunfermline to the north and the associated Dunfermline Northern Link Road.

The report demonstrates evidence that Fife Council is making good progress towards the achievement of the statutory air quality objectives within the existing Bonnygate, Cupar and Appin Crescent, Dunfermline Air Quality Management Areas (AQMA's).  The report was also cited as an example of 'best practice' by Local Air Quality Management (LAQM) appraisers.
 
Fife Council are one of the first local authorities in the UK to update our AQAP's for tackling air quality issues.  The document includes several additional action plan measures intended to help Fife Council towards the achievement of the statutory air quality objectives such as dispersion modelling of a proposed Northern Link Road and a cost benefit analysis of traffic management options within the Appin Crescent area.
 
Fife Council are one of the first local authorities in the UK to update our AQAP's for tackling air quality issues.  The document includes several additional action plan measures intended to help Fife Council towards the achievement of the statutory air quality objectives such as the production of a GIS based modelling tool to aid in the consideration of planning applications with potential air quality issues within the Cupar town centre area.
