Pre-Employment Checks and Offer

 

By now you, as the Recruiting Manager, will have completed the Successful Candidate Form on TalentLink and the Shared Service Centre Recruitment Team will have issued a conditional offer letter to your preferred candidate. They will also initiate the outstanding pre-employment checks. Ultimately though you are responsible for ensuring all pre-employment checks are carried out satisfactorily. Required checks may include:

 

  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Disclosure Check (if required)
  • Overseas Criminal Record Check (if required)
  • References
  • Qualifications
  • Pre-Employment Health Screening
  • Professional Registration (if required)

 

Checks Complete - when all pre-employment checks are satisfactorily completed it is your responsibility to ensure that you are satisfied with all the completed checks before updating the Successful Candidate Form on TalentLink with the actual start date. This will trigger the unconditional/welcome letter of employment which will be issued by the Shared Service Centre Recruitment Team.  This letter will confirm key information including start date/time and venue.

 

Finally the process will conclude with the issuing of the Written Statement of Employment and Induction.  To help settle the new employee into your team, please plan their induction by referring to the Induction section.
