Mediation

Mediation can be a useful tool to resolve workplace relationships at the earliest stage. Workplace issues can have a high impact on team members as well as for the individuals concerned, therefore achieving a resolution at the earliest possible stage is vital.

Mediation is private and confidential, and each party must give consent to participate in the process.

The process involves a mediator who acts as a neutral third party and facilitates rather than directs the process. Parties to mediation need to work together to find a reasonable resolution and be open to understanding the other parties perception of the issues.

The mediator will meet with all parties individually and hear the issues from each individual’s perspective. Once all individual meetings have been held, a facilitated group meeting will be arranged.

The aim of mediation is to help all involved reach an agreement and workable solution. The solutions agreed will be recorded and actions reviewed.
