Pedestrian Zones

Pedestrian Zones

Fife Council has pedestrian zones in Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy and Leven.  Pedestrian zones are created to allow safe access to local businesses.

There are access arrangements in place for commercial vehicles, blue badge holders and permit holders at specific times.  Access to the pedestrian zone is enforced by Police Scotland.  Parking within the pedestrian zone is enforced by Fife Council Parking Attendants.

Details of the access and waiting restrictions can be found on the leaflet in the publications list and are displayed on site.

Dunfermline City Centre

The pedestrian zone covers Douglas Street, High Street and Guildhall Street.

No vehicles are permitted in the zone at any time, unless they meet the exception criteria. Exempt vehicles (eg. blue badge holders) can access the zone 3pm until noon Monday to Saturday and any time on a Sunday.
