Development Management Performance Results
To help us ensure that we provide a quality service to our customers we monitor our performance in a number of ways. This includes both statutory performance targets set by Scottish Government and our own customer satisfaction monitoring. We have provided information below which shows our performance results as well as feedback which received from our customers. The Planning team is committed to making improvements based on the views of our customers. To ensure that we capture the views of all our customer groups we have designed a Listening Plan that highlights the way in which we will achieve this. Planning Performance Framework

You can compare this with our previous reports. It sets out our statutory targets as well as areas we have identified as requiring improvement. We have provided the feedback we received from the Scottish Government in the publication at the bottom of this page. Customer Satisfaction Survey
We regularly ask our customers to provide feedback on the service they have received from the Planning team in Fife. Our Annual Customer Satisfaction Survey provides details of the survey from April 2018 to March 2019. The publication can be found at the bottom of this page.

- Householder Developments relate to proposals to existing dwellings only but do not include any change of use.
- Local Development - Housing relate to proposals to erect 1 to 49 new dwellings.
- Local Development - Business and General Industry relate to proposals for business premises.
- Local Development - Electricity Generation relate to proposals for generating electricity which can include wind turbines and solar farms.
- Local Development - Others relate to any Local development which does not fall within any other class of Local development.
We take all complaints seriously and use the feedback from our customers to monitor where we are going wrong and what we need to do to improve. If we cannot resolve the complaint to our customers satisfaction they are able to refer to the Scottish Public Service Ombudsman (SPSO) who will independently consider the complaint. Fife’s planning team are proud winners of the Quality in Service award which form part of the Scottish Awards for Quality in Planning hosted by the Scottish Government. The award recognises the work carried out by the Gateway Team at the start and end of the planning process. This award was presented in November and follows on from the success in the COSLA awards in March 2014 when we gained a Bronze award for Service Innovation and Improvement. In 2014 our team also entered the Association of Public Sector Excellence awards. Although we did not win an outright award, our submission did contribute to securing the top award. Fife Council achieved the prestigious award of Overall Council of the Year in Service Delivery.
