Household waste collections
Service Disruption - 22 Apr 2014 at 12:21
We are experiencing issues with some bin collections in West Fife at this current time.
If your street has not been collected, please leave your bin out and we will empty it as soon as possible.
If your bin is the only bin unemptied in your street, please contact our Recycling Helpline on 03451 55 00 22 or look to see if an information tag has been placed on your bin.
Recycling and Waste
In Fife we provide various methods for collecting household waste.
Over 100,000 residents are currently on this new service with more households converting to this service in 2013.
Three bin service - blue, brown and grey bins
Less than half the residents within Fife are currently on this service with the aim to eventually convert across to the 4 Bin Service by 2014.
We collect bulkier items from the kerbside which may not fit in your bin. This service can be booked by calling our Recycling Helpline on 03451 55 00 22.
Recycling in flats
Recycling facilities are being issued to some flatted properties in the Kirkcaldy area. A small number of properties in Levenmouth are moving across to a variation of this service in early April.
Recycling Points and Centres
Please help us during periods of high winds by only putting your bin out when necessary.
If you are unable to put your bin out to be emptied and have no-one to do it for you, we can help. Our assisted refuse collection service (also known as 'take out and return') is available to you if you’re elderly or disabled.
You can request a 'take out and return' by calling the Recycling Helpline using the phone number provided or you can fill in our online form and someone will get back to you.
Household clinical waste collection
If you have clinical waste that needs to be disposed of separately and treated in an incinerator then you should be advised of this by your GP or NHS practitioner.
If you wish to clarify whether your medical waste needs to be treated in this way then you should contact NHS Fife for clarification.
Bin Collection Calendar
If you have not received an updated calendar or have misplaced your copy please call our Recycling Helpline on 03451 55 00 22 (Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm) or email firstname.lastname@example.org to receive a replacement.
